I don’t think this is too much to ask. If obstacles have previously prevented this, it does not mean the future needs to be the same. Change is always possible and often we need a helping hand. I am passionate about collaboration as the most empowering route on a therapeutic journey. You have the strength and the answers and together we can make sense of any trauma or anxiety.

My style is warm and down-to-earth. I place great emphasis on developing a strong and trusting relationship to ensure a felt sense of safety and mutual understanding. I integrate evidence-based treatments to ensure the best possible outcome to your therapy. Together we will create a treatment plan with your individual needs at the centre and continually review your progress and goals. I work integratively using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) approaches alongside compassion and emotionally focused therapies. Schema informed treatment approaches bring together elements of CBT and attachment-based therapy, targeting recurring patterns and unhealthy cycles.

Therapeutic Approach

It's not uncommon to worry or experience low mood from time-to-time, but sometimes these issues can become more pronounced, persistent and interfere with the quality of your life. You don't need to feel this way.

Anxiety & depression

Difficulties from our past that continue to resurface need to be processed and resolved. I can help you learn ways to put these traumas to rest.

Trauma

Our relationship with food, shape and weight can become complicated and unhealthy, often as a means to cope with underlying psychological distress. Please contact me if you are experiencing such challenges.

Disordered Eating

Psychological pain and discomfort deserves and requires space and time to heal. We will work as a team to develop resources to manage difficult emotions, self-criticism, low self esteem, and worry that may have developed as coping strategies during challenging life events. We will also understand the underlying cause or causes of distress as a means to help process these experiences. An integral part of the therapeutic process is to identify your needs and move towards better meeting them.

About Me

 

 

Originally from the USA, I moved to London in 2008 to pursue further training in psychology. I completed a master's in child development followed by my professional doctorate in counselling psychology. I began working in the NHS, specialising in drug and alcohol addiction and eating disorders. I have over 10 years clinical experience, both within the NHS and the private sector, supporting clients with complex and diverse needs. Currently, my practice focuses on treating eating disorders, stress, anxiety, depression and trauma.

Online Therapy

Traditionally taking therapies have been delivered face-to-face, and up until the covid 19 pandemic, most practitioners would have argued that this is a necessity. However, scientific research shows that online therapy is as effective as face-to-face therapy. Many people experience additional benefits of online therapy including the possibility of accessing specialist support that may not be local to you, therapy that fits into your busy schedule, and therapy from your home environment that feels like a safe space from which to explore difficulties.

 

Our online calls will be via Zoom which you can download and install on your computer for free.


All sessions are 50 minutes and take place weekly.

Individual therapy (face to face and digital): £120
Couples therapy (face to face and digital): £150
